The ZigBee-IR/LED meter serves as external ZigBee interface for
electronic meters. It collects meter readings from existing meters
already installed and sends data via ZigBee to the Wattle gateway.
This way, you can follow your energy consumption at your mobile phone.
The meter unit can be used with different kinds of meters;
power, water, gas, or heating.
The meter interface can be delivered with two probes:
an IR probe for two way communication with supported
meters and an LED probe for interfacing to meters with
blinking LED.
The optical probe is attached either by magnets or by Velcro.
Battery lifetime is over two years with updates every five seconds.
Step 1. Open case and remove tape from batteries.
Step 2. Connect sensor part
to the main device. Make sure that it connects properly.
Device will now start blinking to let you know its open for pairing.
Step 1. Open the Wattle app and scan for device.
(More/… -> Devices -> Add new -> Scan)
Step 2. Choose configure when device displays in the scan.
Step 1. Set a device name
Step 2. Add the device to a room.
Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

Step 3. Press settings
Make sure settings are accordingly to your meter, as standard the meter reader will be setup with 1000/Electricity meter.
Step 4. Choose Apply and Apply when satisfied with configuration
Do not put main device inside of the metal box for your meter as this will degrade
the signals.
Step 1. mount main device outside of the electrical meter
Step 2. Attach velcro-tape over the Blinking LED on your power meter.
Make sure its totally centered as slightest mm offset might make reading corrupted.
Step 3. Attach sensor to the velcro-tape.
Step 1. Press and hold the button(next to green LED) inside the case. Hold for approx. 10 seconds. (until it blinks rapidly)
Step 2. Release button
Step 3. Device are now ready to be connected to a gateway.
