Get started, scan, configure, mount and reset
A motion sensor can be used for several things. Wattle motion sensor is a multisensor that detects temperature and light levels in addition to movements. You can make a thermostat with the motion sensor along with a smart electrical outlet to control a heater or similar.
Step 1. Remove the magnetic mounting base and open the cover of the sensor.
Step 2. Insert the battery. Make sure that you are inserting the battery according to the polarity.
Step 3. The motion sensor will now look for a Zigbee network it can connect to (it searches for networks for up to 15 minutes).
Step 4. The LED will flash red while the sensor is looking for a Zigbee network it can connect to.
Step 1. Scan for new device in Wattle to connect it to your gateway. (Settings–>Manage devices)
Step 2. When the LED button stops blinking, the Motion sensor is connected to Wattle.
Step 1. Set a device name
Step 2. Add the device to a room.
Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.
Settings for: Security sensor
Step 3. Select Usage
Generic The sensor is separated from any system logic. You can view the status of the sensor in the “generic” tab in the room view.
Security The sensor is used as part of the security alarm system. You can view the status of the sensor in the “sensors” tab in the room view. Usage option: select which of the armed modes this sensor will trigger. It is possible to select one or more alarms.
Away / Stay / Night- alarm. The sensor will trigger the alarm based on your configuration and the mode selected.
Settings for: Temperature sensor
Usage defaults to generic
Settings for: Light sensor
Usage defaults to generic
Step 4. Choose Apply when satisfied with configuration.
You can mount the motion sensor in several ways.
Step 1. Remove the base from the magnetic base by pulling it off.
Step 2. Use the magnetic mounting base to mark the screw holes on the ceiling or the wall.
Step 3. Use the enclosed screws and plugs to mount the base.
Step 4. Attach the sensor to the magnetic mounting base
Step 1. Remove the magnetic base and open the cover of the sensor.
Step 2. Use the magnetic mounting base to mark the screw holes on the ceiling or the wall.
Step 3. Use the enclosed screws and plugs to mount the sensor in the marked spot.
Step 4. Put back the cover on the sensor.
Step 1. Remove the magnetic base from the sensor by pulling it off.
Step 2. Loosen the screw that secures the magnet to the base.
Step 3. Screw the magnet into the ceiling or on the wall.
Step 4. Attach the sensor to the magnet.
If you do not want to mount the sensor on the wall or ceiling, use the supplied plastic stand to place it on a shelf or table.
Step 1. Insert the plastic stand into the opening on the back of the sensor as shown in the drawing.
Step 2. Place the sensor standing on a shelf or table.
Reset is required if you want to connect the sensor to another gateway or reset to factory settings due to abnormal behavior. To reset the sensor, do the following:
Step 1. Remove the sensor from the magnetic base and / or open the cover.
Step 2. Make sure the battery is inserted correctly.
Step 3. Press and hold the button (about 15 seconds) until the red LED light flashes repeatedly.
Step 4. Release the button when the light flashes continuously.
Step 5. The reset is completed when the LED starts blinking every second.
In case of poor or weak signal, try to mount the sensor closer to the gateway. You can also use a smart plug as signal repeater between the sensor and the gateway to boost the signal.
If the search for gateway has timed out, you can start it again by pressing the button.
