 HAN-ADAPTER

1. GETTING STARTED 

Make sure you have opened/enabled the HAN-interface on your smart meter reader (AMS). To do this you need to contact your network provider/utility company. The HAN-interface is by default disabled and only enabled on request from the registered owner. 

This HAN-adapter supports smart meter from Aidon, Kaifa and Kamstrup. Both 1 and 3 phase smart meter readers.

Enabled for «Over the Air» upgrades (OTA) 

Do I need an electrician to install the HAN-adapter? 

No, you do not need an electrician to install this product. You can easily install this yourself in the fuse box. 

 

2. ADD YOUR HAN-ADAPTER TO YOUR GATEWAY

1. Insert battery: Open the cover of the HAN-adapter by sliding the cover upwards and over the antenna. Insert the CR123A battery (included). Ensure correct polarity.

2. The LED will start flashing, alternating blue and red indicating power up. 

3. Pairing mode: LED is flashing blue (3 short flashes) every second the adapter is indicating that the device is in paring mode 

4. Open the app and add new device (follow app instruction to add new device) 

 

3. INSTALL AND MOUNT THE HAN-ADAPTER

1. In order to read the meter reader data, you need to connect the adapter to your AMS electricity meter. Follow the instructions for your meter to locate the HAN-port. 

2. Connect the provided cable to your meter reader using the HAN-port and to the connection port on the HAN-adapter 

 

3. Verify that the adapter is transferring data. The LED will indicate data traffic with a short blue flash every time data is being processed. 

4. Mount the adapter in your fuse box by using the adhesive tape on the back of the adapter.

4. TROUBLESHOOT 

If you experience connection problems or poor signal level you can exchange the included antenna with an external antenna using a reversed polarity SMA connector. 

 

5. FACTORY RESET

Press and hold the push button for 10 sec. to reset the adapter. a. When successfully reset the LED will flash 10 times and return to “pairing mode”.
