IMPORTANT INFORMATION

WATTLE® electronic door locks are supplied with a mechanical emergency key.
It is important to have control of these outside the home as only they can open
the door if the batteries die out or there is a fault in the electronics.
The emergency key function is only intended for emergency use
and should not be used in everyday life.

If you experience a fault in the lock, you should immediately contact WATTLE®
customer service for repair. The lock must work both electronically and with the
mechanical emergency key at all times. Test that the emergency key works after
installing the lock.

WATTLE® disclaims all costs such as missing an emergency key, for example
to open the lock by a locksmith if an error occurs in the electronic part.

What you need before installing

Phillips screwdriver and cutting pliers.
Do not use a electric screwdriver.

IMPORTANT TIPS

1.

The WATTLE® door lock is delivered from the factory so that it
fits both right and left-hung doors, regardless of whether they
are inward or outward. Therefore, you may need to reverse
the direction of impact on the lock housing. This is done by
unscrewing the four small screws that hold the actual post to
the lock housing. Remove the post and turn the bottom two,
the latch and the trigger if they point incorrectly (the hook rule
should not be turned). At the end of the assembly, the handles
must also be fixed correctly on both the outer and inner part
with the two screws and the supplied screwdriver.

2.

When mounting the outdoor part on the door, there are 2
arrows on both sides of the square pin that must point upwards
before you pull it through the lock housing and the side of the
square pin that is red must be facing upwards.

3.

The emergency keys have a different function than other key
systems. To unlock, insert the key and turn 90 degrees (optional
direction), when the key is horizontal, you can open the door
with the handle. To get the key out again, you have to turn back
90 degrees, then the key can be taken out. It is important to
know where the emergency keys are and that these are not in
the home if you only have one entrance.

4.

You must use the supplied insulation between the outer and
inner part, otherwise condensation can form between the cold
and hot side, which can create moisture damage inside the
door and inside the lock.

5.

When you are ready to assemble your device, it is important to
go verify the checklist before closing the door for the first time.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1.

ASSEMBLY
Take out the supplied keys and put them in your pocket before you start fitting the
door lock, so that you do not forget these on the inside later and accidentally close
the door without access to the keys. After removing the existing lock case and
the end plate, insert the new lock case and screw it on with the same screws that
held the old lock case in place. Then mount the end plate in the frame. Remember
to check that the case is upright in relation to the closing of the door,
see point 1 under important tips.

It also comes with an extension bracket of 2mm which you must use if the distance
between the lock housing and the end plate becomes too large so that the hook bolt
does not automatically knock out when the door is closed.

2.

EXTERNAL UNIT
Place the supplied rubber gasket on the back of the outer part, these gaskets are a
little different, so make sure you use the correct gasket. Thread the plug through
the top hole on the door and the square pin through the bottom.

NB The arrows on the square pin and the red marking must point upwards,
otherwise the lock will not work!

NB use the supplied insulation when mounting the lock on an exterior door.
Distribute the insulation between the upper and lower holes to prevent the cold bridge.

3.

INTERNAL UNIT
Insert the mounting plate with the larger hole facing up, the square pin
should go through the small hole. The mounting plate is screwed on with
the 4 included machine screws that can be shortened from the inside of
the door through the lock housing. Do not tighten these screws with a
electronic screwdriver or with too much force with a screwdriver as this
may lead to the emergency key function not working. The screws must
be adjusted in length, be sure to have at least 5mm length to be screwed in,
but they must also not be too long, then they can go to the bottom and
the unit does not sit properly.

4.

Mount the inner rubber gasket on top of the mounting plate and connect
the cable from the outer part to the inner part. Be sure to mount
the connector with the correct orientation for function (note the connector
pin only fits in one direction). Excess cable is threaded into the hole
against the lock housing at the same time as you mount the inner part of
the square pin by sliding it all the way into the rubber gasket and the door.

5.

Then screw the internal unit to the mounting plate with the 3 short machine
screws, the two shorter ones are used in the battery holder and the longest
one under the handle. Insert the batteries 3 AA 1.5v, note the orientation of
the batteries. Then attach the battery cover which is held in place by a magnet.

6.

Choose the direction of the handles on the outer and inner part and fasten  these with
2 screws on the back of each handle using the supplied torx  screwdriver.
Estimated battery life is about 6 – 12 months in normal use.
We recommend that you use good quality alkaline batteries when replacing the battery.

CHECKLIST

IMPORTANT!
ALWAYS TRY THE LOCK BEFORE CLOSING THE DOOR.

Before closing the door, go through the following points:

1.

Try to push down the inner door handle, this should move easily at the same
time as the hook bolt is retracted, if it does not go easily, the lock is probably
mounted with oblique clamping on the door.

2.

By pushing the small pin (release) on the lock housing, the hook bolt should
fall out. Push the inner door handle down completely to retract it. The hook
bolt should now go into the lock housing.

3.

Insert the emergency key into the door handle of the external unit and turn the
key a quarter of a turn. The outer handle should now be engaged and you can now
try to open the lock, first press the small pin (release) on the lock housing to get
the hook bolt out, and then press the handle to see that it goes in again.
Turn a quarter of a turn back to remove the key, verify that the hook bolt does
not fall out.

4.

When everything is checked and assembled, test the lock (Do not close the door)
by entering the factory code on the outer part and the lock is unlocked. A green
LED must light up and the lock beeps before the door can be opened.
The factory code is 123 #, you always end with # even after you have changed
the code to your own.

5.

Close the door and check that the hook bolt falls out when the door is closed,
the handle must be released. If it does not fall out when the door is closed, the
distance between the door and the frame is too great. Then you have to move
out the end plate. Use the included distance bracket of 2 mm.
