How to mount Door lock

Preparations:

Required tool: Philips screwdriver and two pliers or wire cutters.

Step 1. Make sure you have all the parts ready to install the door lock.

  • 1 back plate
  • 1 tail piece
  • 1 tail piece plate
  • 1 tail piece adapter
  • 2 breakable long screws
  • 2 short screws
  • 1 Wattle door lock
  • 4 CR123A Lithium Batteries.

Step 2. Secure the front lock. Before removing your existing lock, use tape to secure the outside keyhole. This will hold it in place as you remove the screws on the inside.

Step 3. Remove the inside thumb-turn. First you need to remove the lock on the inside (the handle). Set the screws aside. You reinstall them in step 6.

Step 4.

A) Normal tail piece length. Most doors have a tail piece  that extends 10mm from the door panel. They will fit on the new smart door lock without the need for any adjustment of the length. If the tail piece is less than 10mm from the door panel, use the supplied tail piece found in the box.

B) Some locks have a cylinder and when removed, use the cylinder pin and cylinder plate included in the box.

The door lock can be fitted with a tail piece length of up to 35mm. If the tail piece exceeds 35 mm, you must shorten it.(See illustration in step 7).

You must shorten the tail piece after mounting the tail piece plate as shown in step 5.

Step 5. Fit the tail piece with the tail piece plate and the short screws.

Step 6. Mount the back plate. Locate the back plate and remove the paper from the three stickers on the back of the back plate. Place the back plate where the twist used to be. The round hole in the middle is for the tail piece. Use the two breakable long screws to secure the backing plate. Adjust the length as needed. Alternatively, you can use the old screws if they fit better.

Step 7. Make sure the tail piece is the correct length. To avoid damage to the door and lock, shorten the tail piece to a maximum of 35 mm from the door panel. Use pliers or a bite to shorten the tail piece.

Step 8. Attach the tail piece adapter. Take the green tail piece adapter from the door lock box and insert the tail piece adapter in the center tube on the backside of the door lock. Press the adapter until a click ensures that it is fixed firmly to the door lock.

Step 9. Fit the door lock over the back plate with the battery cover facing down, the tail piece sliding into the adapter and the back plate notches into the back of the lock.

Step 10. Find the small mark on the edge of the back plate and adjust it with the hole in the cover ring surrounding the door lock. Now you’re sure to hit the notches on the back plate with the door lock.

Step 11. Turn the door lock clockwise until it clicks to fasten it to the back plate. NOTE: If you need to unfasten and retry. See “Uninstall instructions”.

Step 12. Activate the batteries. Pull out the plastic tab to activate the batteries. A light will flash to confirm that the door lock is ready. Note: If the batteries are disconnected you will have to re-calibrate the door lock.

Step 13. Open the app and scan for new device. Put the door lock in discovery mode by pressing a small pin in the door of the door lock. One click will enable the green LED light indicating that the lock is ready to connect to Wattle. It will flash during scanning. Note: Leave the door open so that the lock is not affected when calibrated.
