Quick rules

Quick rule is a predefined set of triggers and actions types that we setup for you so that you get easy and accessible most general rule.

Step types

  • Step Type: Trigger:
    This step type is used to select all devices and or actions that will trigger the rule to execute actions
    Example: magnetic sensor is opened is a trigger
  • Step Type: Action:
    This step type is used to select all devices and or actions that will execute after a trigger event has happened
    Example: Select a room and values for those rooms
  • Step Type: Additional:
    This step type is used to define all additional valuesExample of additional values:

    • Duration of the rule
    • Delay of the rules
    • Lux values that are conditions (currently not available, planed)
    • Time interval when the rule will be executed
  • Step Type: Name:
    This step type is used to define the name of the rule

Choose action type

This is a selection type that lists all the possible types of selections for the current step type and quick rule combination. Possible types are displayed or hidden depending on the capabilities and joined devices to your system. Example, if you don’t have a motion joined to your gw, then the option to select a motion sensor trigger won’t be visible to you.

 

Currently selectable types of triggers

  • Motion alarm select
  • Magnetic alarms select

Currently selectable types of actions

  • Single light device with dim and toggle values
  • Single light device with dim, toggle and color values
  • Light room with dim and toggle values
  • Light room with dim, toggle and color values

Usage type alert

When the usage type might conflict with rule execution then the selection will display an error message to warn the user that something might behave strangely

Behavior

When selecting a device and the device has multiple applicable endpoints then the app will prompt the user to select between the two endpoints or the device itself it if has the required function to execute the rule
